Well, what isn’t done won’t get done.

What has been fogotten, will remain forgotten.

I’m done! (well almost)

The knitting gods must have been smiling down apon me, because my Knitpicks order arrived safe and sound after I posted yesterday…So here’s a bit of yarn porn, to tide me over.

And watch how it will all magically become F.O.’s by the next post! :)

This is what it takes to get a family of three to Greece for 6 weeks. (Not pictured…Car seat & Stroller)

Isn’t that insane? And I edited, I really did?

And finally to leave on the right note, an adorable pic of my Blogger-in-training…

So off we go… see you Sept. end. Have a wonderful summer!

Packing Projects

I’m also going to pack a whole whack of patterns and needles in hopes that I come across the “perfect yarn”. And I think that does it. If only my Knitpicks order shows up today or even tomorrow, I’d be ecstatic

What I didn’t get done,

  • Any of the home improvement projects that were on my list

  • Any of the sewing projects on my list, including the perfect carry-on “Nappy Bag”

I guess that’s it, although the latter were pretty extensive tasks. I’m in better shape than I expected. The house is almost to the point were I feel like I can comfortably leave it for 6 weeks. And my blog is too! One last post and I’m outta here!

Water… $1.00
Souvlaki…$2.00
Crepe…$3.00
Over 1 million people walking by your front door…Priceless!
This was the view from my place this weekend, and this could be considered light trafic!

People

There was a festival over the weekend, they closed down the street and scads of people came eating their way up and down. There was music and a midway, and no inch of street left to sqeeze yourself onto. I stayed in as much as possible, but by Sunday eve DS was stir crazy! So we had to dive in and wade through the grease to the swings and slides.

It’s all gone now, for another year, leaving only the dark spots all over the streets and sidewalks, and a faint smell of rotting food to remind us of the millions who poured into and onto our neighborhood! Every year I say I’m going to leave town, yet I somehow never manage to acheive this feat. For those of you who may have enjoyed it from the perspective opposite my own, Great! Enjoy! See you next year! Just don’t take my parking spot! :)

I may not have mentioned it here before, but I’m leaving for Greece for 6 weeks on Friday. Amongst shopping, cleaning my house and attempting in general to get my life into a state ressembling order and calm, there has been not much knitting going on.

I have almost finished the back of my Rebecca Tunic… I think that will be the airplane project. I began to knit a case for my son’s new portable DVD (a must for a ten hour flight) but being pressed for time, I may just sew one. Speaking of sewing, I’ve decided that the Nappy Bag will be the perfect carry-on (with a few modifications) soooo, I’m going to try and whip one of those up
Ha, ha, ha….

And what else is new….hmmmm, oh yes!
I am officially a bandwagonner, DH just bought me an Ipod! This is wonderful for a few reasons. I really didn’t want to lug 6 weeks worth of cd’s in my suitcase, (Leaving more room for yarn,.. but I’ll get to that in a minute.) and I was really stressed about how I would dump my digital photos when the memory card was full. He got the adapter and a portable speaker set as well. Save a computer, we are electronically set for our trip. And I’ll make a case for that too while I’m at it.

So now comes the most important part. What projects should I pack? More importantly, how much knitting could I possbly accomplish in 6 weeks? The Tunic will go in my carry-on, my poncho for the long drive to the village. A sweater for my son, from Adorable Knits for Tots,OSW, Tempting. The yarn has been packed for all of these. And two ponchos, one for each of my little sisters, I promised to have them for the fall. I’m still looking for a pattern for those. I think that will probably keep me busy enough, but just in case I think I’ll bring a few extra patterns, and maybe my entire needle and tool collection. These descisions are so difficult…

Another thing that I wanted to get done before I go was this side bar ughhh, how horrid! I would love to add a few links, as well as keep a running total of the projects that I have in mind, It’s getting hard to keep track and I know I won’t remember when I get back. As well as a finished object page and so on, and so on…

I’m now starting to feel guilty about sitting here, when there’s still so much left to do. I will check back before I leave I promise…

Oh, I am still a dork, I realized just recently that I answered the meme question, with the 100 millons dollars thinking it was only 1 million… silly billy!
