So I’m happily chugging along on my son’s Robinhood Sweater. I decided yesterday that having already finished the back and front panels, I could probobly get at least one sleeve done by the end of the day. I wont bore you with a picture because the front looks pretty much like the pic in the last post, only in two pieces. It’s about 10pm, I’m about an inch from binding off when suddenly I actually read the pattern! Increases? What increases? The thought of trying to make it work briefly enters my mind and is quickly filed among the other many stupid ideas that occur to me from time to time.
So I bit my lip and frogged it.
I’ve come to believe that there was a larger messege in this waisted day. (yes, one bigger than the obvious “read the whole pattern stupid!”) And it is this, “there are excactly two weeks left until Christmas, and you need to stop pissing around with a project that should have be done three months ago and at least put up your tree!” So I’m putting the sweater away, I vow not to even look at it until; christmas cards are sent, my house is spotless, beatifully decorated, the gifts are bought and wrapped, my baking is finished, and I’ve sufficiently argued with D.H. about any number of holiday related things.
As of this moment, I’m officially letting down the guard, let the craziness of the holiday begin. Oh how I love the holidays, I do I really do.
So it seems that a quiet evening of knitting is not foreseen over the next little while. The last two weekends I have spent creating something much bigger than a sweater. I was recruited by my Stepfather to design and build a float he would sponsor for the local town parade. After two weeks of slaving away, it made it into to the parade last Sunday eve, with only minutes to spare. Despite the cold, and rain I’m pretty impressed with my abilities. I, the Project Manager, “Trump Style” won the task… It really was one of, if not the best looking float in the parade. Does that say something about me, Or the parade itself? Anyway it was fun, I wonder if it has desintegrated yet?

So that leads me too my knitting, and christmas. I don’t see any last minute knitted gifts making it under the tree this year. Although ‘tis the season for miracles.
I ordered the new Malanie Falik book last week and I think a may be able to get out a few of the knitted ornaments. Eureka! I’ve finally figured out what to do with the years worth of samples I’ve been getting from Elann
Other than that a don’t think I’ll be able to swing much else.
I have however been working on my sons Robinhood Sweater, and have managed to get the back panel done. I anticipate being finished in a week or so. It’s knitting up fairly quickly. I think I could really get into this knitting for kids thing. WAAAYYY less time consuming. I think the most exciting thing so far is that I actually successfully managed surgery on one of the cable panels. (One of those “you’ve got to be kidding me moments”) My first critical operation ever.

And finally as proof and promised the finished Rebecca Tunic. Please ignore the “fatness” of the picture. I do have a belly when you look at my profile. But this pic just makes me look wide. I wasn’t to happy with the outcome of this one but, it’s making a great maternity shirt. Who’d a thunk it?

Cheers for now
